| Spring 2009 Sisterhood Events |
|
Each semester, sororities are matched with 1 to 4 "sister" sororities with which they do at least one sisterhood event. These events often encompass philanthropy, service, or are aimed at personal wellness and give members an opportunity to become closer with other members of the Panhellenic community.
Some sisterhood events that occurred in Spring 2009 are:
- Alpha Delta Pi and Alpha Eplison Phi went bowling in the Illini Union.
- Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Chi Omega, and Phi Sigma Sigma had a dinner exchange.
- Chi Omega, Alpha Omega Epsilon, Delta Xi Phi, and Sigma Kappa worked together to make baskets for a hospital and gathered donations from many of their members.
- Delta Zeta and Gamma Phi Beta worked together to make Easter baskets with cards and candy for a local retirement home.

| New Member Education Fall 2009 |
| Women going through Panhellenic formal recruitment will receive their bids on Bid Day, which is Sunday, September 13, 2009. After bid distribution, new members will spend the day participating in sisterhood events with their respective chapters. Following bid day, new members will begin their new member education period, which lasts from bid day until their chapter's initiation, and these education periods vary in length depending on each national organization's policies. Each chapter has a different new member education program to help incorporate the new members of their chapter to know its policies and develop friendship and sisterhood with its active members. Many chapters include a chapter retreat as part of their program. Every new member education program's goal is to educate its members of its chapter's national policies and history, to encourage sisterhood amongst new members, to encourage sisterhood between new and active members, and to smoothly incorporate its new members to the University. |
